Due for an Update

I thought about doing a massive update of the past 6 months but decided that would take too long. We've been doing sooooo much and are grateful to have had the time to do so. Alissa is working hard on some BIG things at Skanska. I am making it happen at Vocus. Overall, we're kickin' it and enjoying life.

I decided to update this with the elected. Elected, like we are. Best of the best. You get the point.

First, Snowmageddon 2010. Whew! What a crazy couple of days in February. We have lived through the largest snowfall DC has ever experienced. The
total snowfall is over 60 inches for the year. FYI - That's A LOT of the fluffy white stuff. It's not so fluffy and fun after it's been on the ground for almost a week. I understand cabin fever now. Glad it's over and there is hope for warmer weather in the near future. These are the times a sweaty Summer day doesn't seem so bad.

Next - I had a little run-in with "Big Boy" the bear over Christmas. While hunting with family, a large bear came running through the woods, knocking down trees and making me shake in my boots. When the enormous, endangered North American Black Bear came out of the woods only 15 yards from me, I did what any sane person would do...screamed like a little girl for help! Scary but memorable. Luckily, he turned around and ran back into the woods. I guess screaming like a scared child is an effective defense. Hopefully, this will never happen again. The day was brightened after that as I was able to take a deer and have some fresh venison that evening! Mmm...

Also, Alissa had a nice trip out to California to spend time with her beloved friend Courtney Dasher. She had a great time and came back to snowy DC with a nice sun tan. Lucky her!

Finally, the University of Alabama took the National Championship. Very exciting for the Alabama faithful! Maybe we'll repeat or threepeat. Right now, the only thing that matters in football talk is the new trophy to add to the Bryant Museum in good ole Tuscaloosa. Woohoo!

As Spring is sure to begin in DC, we are excited to spend time with friends and family in our Nation's Capital. Looking forward to a trip to Atlanta to experience the McKaig/Melnyk wedding and lots more this Spring.
